Be sure to take in this special show utilizing dozens of historical musical instruments on loan from the National Music Museum at USD.
Featured guests include The New Custer Brass Band, singer Becky Schlegel, USD faculty cellist and pianist Nick Curry and Susan Gray.
According to Keillor's Web site, Pat Donohue and Tim Sparks will also explore the history of the guitar, playing their way through a collection that would make Andres Segovia light-headed.
Joining the cast in the DakotaDome will be the Royal Academy of Radio Acting, Tim Russell, Sue Scott, and Fred Newman, The Guy's All-Star Shoe Band, and much more live this Saturday on A Prairie Home Companion.
Thanks naturally go to Keillor for choosing to bring his show to Vermillion. But, we all must realize that at least part of the credit must be shared by one of this community's treasures the National Music Museum. Keillor was so impressed with the collection of rare instruments, he couldn't stay away.
If you're interested in seeing the Vermillion performance, call 1-800-333-0789 for ticket information. S.D. Public Broadcasting will sell tickets until noon on Saturday. Any left over tickets will be available at the DakotaDome door.
