These two seniors have demonstrated the effort and desire for success in their classes and activities.
Knutson "radiates a positive attitude, and is conscientious, trustworthy, a hard worker and a leader to underclassmen," according to her faculty endorsement. She plans to attend The University of South Dakota after graduation from VHS.
Her activities include cheerleading, 4-H, marching band, concert choir, Bergen Church youth group, and concert band. She has also been a volunteer with the Welcome Table and with Vermillion Parks & Recreation. Her parents are Lowell and Cindy Knutson.
Orr's nomination indicated that she "is dependable and models character for her peers."
Another nomination also noted that "she exhibits a caring attitude to all ages." Her post-high school plans are to attend the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology in Rapid City for a double major in Mathematics and Industrial Engineering.
She has been active in volleyball, track and National Honor Society, along with volunteering at Meals on Wheels and the Welcome Table. She has been the sophomore class president and a South Dakota Rising Math and Science Scholar. Her parents are Andrea and Jonathan Feller and the late William Orr.
