Park license required beginning May 1
South Dakota state parks officials are reminding visitors to Lewis and Clark Recreation Area near Yankton that an entrance license will be required of vehicles in the Lewis and Clark Marina area beginning May 1.

The entrance license requirement affects marina slip renters and their guests, convenience store patrons, fisherman and those visitors driving for pleasure in the marina area, which is located at the east end of Lewis and Clark Recreation Area. Patrons of the Marina Grille restaurant, also located on the marina grounds, would be exempt from the requirement.

The revenue from park entrance license sales supports the ongoing operations and maintenance of the park, including parking, grounds maintenance and water access.

Entrance licenses are available from any South Dakota state park office or online at arks. Visitors can also purchase either annual or daily permits through a self-registration system at the marina entrance. Annual licenses are available for $23 or two for $34.50, daily permits are $5 per vehicle.
