Tanagers lose close game in Parkston
On Monday, April 17, in what was supposed to be a double header involving the Winner Warriors and Parkston Trojans, the Tanagers lost a close encounter against the Trojans, 8-6, in Parkston.

Winner was unable to leave home due to bad weather conditions so there was only one game.

After leading 3-2 in the fifth, the Tanagers surrendered three runs and had to scramble for the remaining innings, scoring three runs in the seventh, but it was not enough and the Parkston nine prevailed 8-6.

Line scores: Parkston � 8 runs, 7 hits, 1 error, 6 lob; Vermillion � 6 runs, 7 hits, 4 errors, 7 lob.

Zach Weiss was the losing pitcher and the team's season record fell to 0 wins, 4 losses.

Starring for the offense: Reid Meirkort � 1 for 3, 2 runs, 1 rbi; Eric McPherson � 1 for 4, 1 run; Kyle Brunick � 2 for 4, 1 run; Weiss was walked twice and scored each time.
