Tennis team records a 7-2 decision over Southwest Minnesota State
The South Dakota women's tennis team (9-12) won its second consecutive home match with a 7-2 decision over Southwest State (4-10) in nonconference action on April 9 at the USD tennis courts.

South Dakota won five of the six singles matches and claimed two wins in three doubles matches.

With her win at No. 4 singles, Michelle Hogan improved her season record to a team-best 15-6 with a straight set (6-0, 6-1) decision. Rachel Kludt also won her No. 5 singles match (6-0, 6-2) and improved to 14-7.


Suzy Puetz won a straight set decision (6-3, 6-3) to move to 12-9 on the season. USD also received wins from Ashley Waltman (10-11) at No. 2 singles (6-3, 6-2) and Kelli Galbraith (10-11) at No. 3 singles (6-0, 6-2).

The No. 2 doubles team of Amanda Barton and Kludt moved to 11-10 on the season with a come-from-behind 8-6 win while Hogan/Galbraith improved to 14-7 with an 8-3 win.
