USD partners with MMC for Alternative Service event

Students from The University of South Dakota and Mount Marty College joined earlier this year for an Alternative Saturday of Service.

The students worked at the Yankton Women's Shelter which provides shelter, treatment, and referrals to victims of domestic and/or sexual abuse.

At the shelter, students painted the interior rooms, as well as provided office assistance. The students also learned about the signs of a violent relationship, as well as ways to assist those who are currently in abusive relationships.
