USD SIFE team qualifies for national competition

The University of South Dakota Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team has qualified for the national SIFE competition.

The SIFE team at USD qualified for the national competition after defeating 24 other teams at the regional competition in Minneapolis on March 31.�In addition to winning the team competition, the SIFE team won five of the six individual topic areas.

The national SIFE competition will be held in Kansas City, May 21-23.�

The SIFE team at USD consists of 53 students.�These 53 students combined to donate over 5,000 hours of service to the business plan which qualified for nationals.�Approximately 20 students will attend the national competition which will be judged by executives from over 60 Fortune 500 companies such as Wal-Mart, AFLAC, and Radio Shack.�The national winner will then compete in the international SIFE competition later this year in Paris.
