USD women golfers qualify for third regional championship
The South Dakota women's golf team earned its third-straight trip to the NCAA Division II Women's Golf North Regional Championships, which USD will host on May 1-2 at The Bluffs Golf Course in Vermillion, according to an announcement April 24 by the NCAA.

USD, which was tied for sixth in the region rankings as of April 21, used a fourth-place finish at the Maverick Invitational, hosted by Minnesota State, to vault them into the regional tournament.

The Coyotes qualified fifth in the six-team field, which includes North Dakota, Nebraska-Omaha, Minnesota State, Southwest Minnesota State and Augustana. Also qualifying as individuals for the tournament are Winona State's Morgan Proshek and Upper Iowa's Rachael and Rochelle Schmidt.

The top-two teams and two individuals will qualify for the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships, which will be held at The Meadows in Allendale, MI, and hosted by Grand Valley State.

Last season, the Coyotes finished fifth at the regional tournament in Winona, MN.
