USD women's golf team finishes 4th at Augustana
The South Dakota women's golf team finished fourth by carding a 338 at the Augustana Spring Invitational, played April 1 at the Prairie Green Golf Course in Sioux Falls.

Junior Karrie Plate (Vermillion) led USD in the eight-team field with an 83, which placed her in a tie for 11th. Fellow junior Amanda Young (Mitchell) finished one stroke behind Plate with an 84 to finish in a tie for 13th.

Also scoring for the Coyotes were sophomore Kristi Tighe (Homer, NE), who finished in a tie for 18th with an 85, sophomore Amber Luitjens (Aberdeen) shot an 86 to finish in a tie for 21st, while sophomore Brooke Bonte (Beresford) fired an 88 to tie for 28th.


Southwest Minnesota State's Abby Oakland took home medalist honors with a one-under-par 71 on the 5,803-yard course.

Augustana won the team title with a 322. Winona State was second with a 325, while SMSU finished third with a 337.
