The April 1 prom averaged around 30 couples, one of the biggest in recent history. The Grand March began at 7 p.m.
The "Starlit Paradise" themed dance took off after the Grand March. The dance concluded about midnight. Music to Go featured D.J. "Timmy Fly" from 104.7 radio station. Artz Photographic took beautiful pictures of the couples.

Catering the banquet meal was Central Catering from Hawarden, IA. The food served was broasted pork chops, chicken breasts, augratin potatoes, green bean casserole, a garden salad, and fresh fruit.
After the dance the students were bussed to Yankton to bowl, play games, and eat pizza at the After Prom Celebration at Good Times. When they got back to Wakonda High, prizes were awarded.
