Young Producers scoop for senior center

The Young Producers 4-H Club gathered March 30 at the Wakonda Senior Citizens Center to help with a dusty problem.

After a fire in the adjoining building, dirt had drifted into the senior center basement, causing dust and rubble to cover the entire floor. With the help of a few parents and friends, the Young Producers removed over 30 buckets of dirt from the basement.

Amy Luxem, a junior with the club, said it was a big job but everybody helped.

"There wasn't an idle hand in the building," she said. "Everybody pitched in to do a job well done for our elders. It's great that we gave give a little back to our community and still have fun."
