The American Musical Instrument Society will hold its 35th annual meeting at the National Music Museum on the campus of The University of South Dakota in Vermillion, Friday, May 19 through Tuesday, May 23. Social events are also planned, beginning with a lavish welcoming reception on the National Music Museum Townsley Courtyard. A traditional South Dakota pig roast will be held outdoors Saturday evening on the National Music Museum lawn. The gala banquet, featuring the presentation of the Curt Sachs Award and the Densmore Prize, followed by an auction to raise funds for student travel, will be held at the Winery. Tour de Kota � The second annual Argus Leader Tour de Kota bike ride across South Dakota will be June 12-16, from Yankton to Milbank, with Discovery Rides through Vermillion the morning of Sunday, June 11. This event has grown from last year and hundreds of riders are expected to pass through our community. Special events are being planned for riders on Main Street in Vermillion that morning, and the public is welcome to join us downtown to meet and greet the visitors!
