Check It Out Book Club

The Book Club offers many selections to Internet patrons. Each book runs for five days, Monday through Friday. Some genres only offer selections every other week. Check out this service by registering at the library's Web site, and clicking on the book club icon. Online patrons can find the club at Selections for the week of May 8 are:

Library Activities Calendar

Step into the world of Dinostories and visit an activities exhibit from May 3 through May 22.

Weekly programs are scheduled with special story and craft times for Toddlers and Preschoolers. This exhibit is created by the Hands-On Partnership for Science, Literature, and Art in South Dakota in partnership with the SD School of Mines & Technology Discovery Center & Aquarium, Dahl Fine Arts Center, South Dakota State Library, and the Rawlins Municipal Library.

On Friday, May 5, a special Dinostories Kick-Off Party is scheduled from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the Community Room of the library. Get creative on Monday, May 8, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. with special art activities and paint your dino-egg from Friday's kick-off. Dig up dinosaur books on Monday May 15 after school, and stop by at 7 p.m. for a special dinosaur story time. Learn dino-anatomy on Monday May 22 from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

Another Scrabble Scrimmage is scheduled for Saturday, May 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Community Room of the library. Adults and Young adults from 12 to 18 years of age are invited to join in the spelling fun. Extra Scrabble boards are welcome.

CLAWS, PAWS, SCALES, & TALES! Get ready for this year's summer reading program at the Vermillion Public Library. Stop by the circulation desk to register and receive more information. The Kick-Off Party starts Monday, June 5 at noon.

Young Adult Open Mic Night is coming to VPL! Participants are welcome to bring their own writings or use material available at the library. Open Mic Night is planned for Sunday, May 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the library.
