Each will receive a $500 grant to assist with their college education for the 2006-07 academic year. This is the 14th year of the program for members of the water system.
Knutson will graduate from Vermillion High School this spring. She is the daughter of Cindy and Lowell Knutson of rural Vermillion. She plans to attend The University of South Dakota and enroll in general studies.
Stockland will graduate from Wakonda High School this spring. He plans to attend Mitchell Technical Institute this fall where he has been accepted into the electrician program. He is the son of Robin and Frank Stockland.
The Clay Rural Water System is a member-owned, nonprofit corporation head- quartered east of Wakonda.
Operational since 1979, the water system annually distributes over 160 million gallons of water to 1,700 farms, homes and businesses in parts of five counties in southeast South Dakota.
