This competitive award was given to Ramaeker, originally from Mason City, IA, for her interest in women's health care and her outstanding academic work.
In acknowledgement of her extraordinary achievement, Ramaeker will have the choice of attending the annual clinical meeting of ACOG in Washington, D.C. May 6-10, the annual district meeting in Hawaii Nov 8-11, or the annual meeting of the Junior Fellows of ACOG at the Grand Geneva Resort in Geneva, WI, on Oct 7-8.

Ramaeker said that her academic experience at USD allowed her to gain the much needed hands-on experience and attention to be competitive in her field of study.
After graduation, Ramaeker plans to pursue a career in Ob/Gyn or internal medicine and is currently researching residency programs throughout the nation.
