Two student-athletes at The University of South Dakota have been selected to the Academic All-North Central Conference Women's At-Large team by a vote of the league's sports information directors.

Kristi Tighe of the USD golf team, and Jill Smolczyk of the USD swimming and diving team, were selected to the 13-member squad, which consists of student-athletes from golf, tennis and swimming and diving teams. The At-Large squad has a combined grade point average of 3.77.

Tighe, who has a 3.810 GPA in nursing, was a member of the USD women's golf squad that qualified for the NCAA Division II regional tournament for the third straight year. Tighe, a sophomore from Homer, NE, was also a member of the 2005-06 USD women's basketball squad.

Smolczyk, who has a 3.783 GPA in psychology, earned her second All-American honor during the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving National Championships earlier this year. Smolczyk of Omaha, NE, led the Coyotes to an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Division II nationals. Smolczyk picked up her second-career All-American honor by placing seventh in the 1-meter diving competition at the Division II nationals this spring.
