$870 grant awarded to W.H. Over Museum
The Friends of the W.H. Over Museum (FOM) have received an $870 grant from a Vermillion area family to purchase a copier for the museum's office.

The grant will provide funds to purchase a new paper copier, initial supplies, and secure a one-year maintenance and service contract.

The W.H. Over Museum's Annual Rummage Sale will be held on the patio in front of the museum (Sletwold Hall in case of inclement weather) this Saturday morning, June 10, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The first Discovery Room Caf-for-a-Day will also be open to the public and will feature products from the FOM Family Bakers.

For more information call the museum (677-5228) or contact Maxine Johnson, the fund raiser for the Friends of the W. H. Over Museum.

Please remember to recommend the "American Rivers" traveling exhibit to your summer visitors. The 600+ square foot exhibit explores the current and historical geography, biological, and ecological aspects of the four rivers Lewis and Clark utilized to traverse the American West in their efforts to find a water route to the Pacific Ocean.

The Friends of the W.H. Over Museum is a non-profit, volunteer organization which was established in 1965 to provide financial and volunteer support for museum exhibits and activities. Today, The Friends organization is totally responsible for operating, maintaining, and financing the museum, its collections, and its activities and programs.

This grant represents another significant contribution to the museum's efforts to continue Dr. William Henry Over's legacy of preserving the natural and cultural heritage of South Dakota and the surrounding area and passing it on to present and future generations.
