  • Writer Ed Allen will be the featured reader at the Vermillion Literary Project Slam at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, at the Coffee Shop Gallery, 24 West Main Street, downtown Vermillion. Allen's reading will be followed by a poetry slam, a competition for poets. Poets should bring at least three poems. Prizes will be awarded! This event is free and open to the public. Please join us!
  • Join us at the 4-H Center for an Acrylic Painting Workshop on Friday, June 30 at 2 p.m. The class is put on by nationally known artists that are coordinated through "Let's Paint Run-Aways," located in Sioux Falls. Each workshop is designed so each participant will go home with a finished acrylic painting. Seniors are encouraged to register. Class is limited to 25 people. Pre-registrations are encouraged � payment is due at that time. The class is open to the public ages 8 and up. To register or for more information contact 677-7111.
  • Siouxland Kennel Club All Breed Dog Show & Obedience Show � Saturday, July 1 and Sunday, July 2 at Clay County Fairgrounds. Help us welcome this show that has over 1,200 entries! The VCDC will be providing promotional materials about Vermillion to attendees along with a promotional coupon book advertising business information and weekend specials. We'd like to thank the overwhelming number of businesses who participated with this effort, and thanks to everyone else whose efforts will help make this show a huge success in Vermillion!

  • Vermillion's City Council will meet on Monday, July 3. City Council meetings are held the first and third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Al Neuharth Center.
