First Dakota employees send care packages to Charlie Battery

Always ready to support our troops of Charlie Battery, First Dakota National Bank employees from their 12 locations in southeast South Dakota raised $2,400 in a matter of hours to send care packages to each troop member.

The care packages includes 150 drawstring backpacks with items such as jerky, sunscreen, chapstick, lotion, and flea collars. The soldiers put the flea collars on their belts to help repel sand fleas. The Iraqi children have become special friends of the troops, so each bag also includes a few toys for them.

The bank donated the bags and the postage to mail the care packages overseas. The rest came from personal donations from First Dakota's 240 employees. Special thanks to the Yankton Hy-Vee Store for including instant ice tea and lemonade packages in each bag, and to the Yankton K-Mart store for giving a 10 percent discount on items purchased at their store.

With total assets exceeding $614 million and a financial team of over 240 dedicated banking professionals, First Dakota has grown to 12 offices including Chamberlain, Kimball, Parkston, Salem, Vermillion, Wagner, with two locations each in Mitchell, Sioux Falls and Yankton. Loan production offices are also located in Mitchell, Corsica, and Platte, as well as Elgin, Hastings, and Ogallala, NE.
