The Vermillion Farmer's Market and the Vermillion Area Arts Council continue the Midweek Food & Arts Festival every Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Washington Street Arts Center, 202 Washington Street.

The National Music Museum continues its Brown Bag Lunch free concert series on June 23 at noon with Jack Norton and the Mullet River Boys from Minneapolis performing vintage ragtime and jazz, hobo bluegrass, honky-tonk country, gospel and vaudeville-inspired folk.

The Vermillion Community Theatre presents the musical Damn Yankees at the Vermillion High School Theatre Friday, June 23 through Monday, June 26 at 8 p.m. except for Sunday, June 25 at 2 p.m. Come early! An hour before the show there will be your favorite baseball food available on the north lawn and front gate entertainment by our youngest cast members.


Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for K-12 and are available at the Nook 'n Cranny, Davis Pharmacy, Hy-Vee and at the door.

The Main Art Gallery in USD's Fine Arts Building is exhibiting recent paintings by Gerald M. Cournoyer. The show will be on display through June 28 with a reception on Sunday, June 25 from 3 to 5 p.m. The Women and Literature Reading Group will meet Wednesday, June 28 at 7 p.m., on the first floor of I.D. Weeks Library at USD to discuss Irmgard Keun's novel The Artificial Silk Girl. All readers welcome! For more information, contact Amanda.Emerson@usd.edu.

The Vermillion Literary Project (VLP) will be holding a reading and poetry slam on Thursday, June 29 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Coffee Shop Gallery. The night's featured reader will be author and USD English professor Ed Allen, followed by a poetry slam. Those planning to participate in the slam should bring at least three poems. Prizes will be awarded. As always, this event is free and open to the public.
