The Vermillion Farmer's Market and the Vermillion Area Arts Council continue the Midweek Food & Arts Festival every Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Washington Street Arts Center, 202 Washington Street.

USD student Jessica Chavera presents her Senior Vocal Recital on Sunday, June 11 at 1 p.m. in Colton Recital Hall. Her recital is free and open to the public.

The USD Playhouse begins its inaugural season with the musical Forever Plaid Thursday, June 15 through Saturday, June 17 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, June 18 at 2 p.m. in the Wayne S. Knutson Theatre. For tickets call 677-5400.

The Coffee Shop Gallery on Main Street is currently featuring prints by Andrew Kosten and Tyler Ferrier.

The National Music Museum continues its Brown Bag Lunch free concert series on June 23 at noon with Jack Norton and the Mullet River Boys from Minneapolis performing vintage ragtime and jazz, hobo bluegrass, honky-tonk country, gospel and vaudeville-inspired folk.

The Vermillion Community Theatre presents the musical Damn Yankees June 23-26 at the Vermillion High School Theatre. For more information go to

The Main Art Gallery in USD's Fine Arts Building is exhibiting recent paintings by Gerald M. Cournoyer. The show is called "Mato Ta Ota," meaning "His Many Bears," which is also the artist's Indian name, and will be on display June 8-28 with a reception on Sunday, June 25 from 3 to 5 p.m. The gallery is open to the public free of charge weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on weekends from 1-5 p.m.
