Post #1 baseball team extends win record by 2
On Tuesday, June 13, Post #1 defeated Dakota Valley in a five-inning game at Prentis Park in Vermillion.

Kyle Mollet was the game winner going the route, giving up three runs on nine hits, walking one and registering seven Ks. The team committed only one error.

Offensive stats were: Ben Oberle � 1 for 4, 1 RBI; Mollet � 1 for 3, 1 run, 1 RBI; Reid Meierkort � 1 for 2, 1 run; Scott Morrison � 1 for 3, 1 run, 1 RBI; Jeff Donnelly � 1 for 2, 1 run, 1 RBI; Zach Weiss � 1 for 2, 2 runs; Ryan Gilbertson � 1 for 3, 1 run, 1 RBI. Scoring 1 run was C.J. Haakinson.


In the second game against DV, Post #1 came from behind when they scored three runs in the fifth inning and held on for a 9-5 victory. Reid Meierkort started and went 3 1/3 innings, giving up four runs on seven hits. Jeff Donnelly went 1 2/3 to gain the win, Scott Morrison pitched the final shutout inning with two Ks and a groundout for the save.
