This meeting will be in conjunction with the annual Lewis & Clark Festival going on June 9, 10 and 11. A program of all scheduled events for the festival may be picked up at the Sgt. Floyd Welcome Center in Sioux City.
The festivities on Saturday start at 8 a.m. with a full day of events including Bev Hinds speaking at 11 a.m. on Sgt. Charles Floyd; Craig Oldsen's presentation of Firearms of the 1800s at 1 p.m.; Dr. Hal Stearns � a renowned Lewis & Clark Historian at 2 p.m.; our meeting at 4 p.m.; and then at 7 p.m. Hans Heynan will speak on the Navigation Methods of Lewis & Clark. Heynan is a speaker that comes courtesy of MOP Chapter of the LCTHF, Inc. Weather permitting, boat rides on the keelboat will also be available.
Food will be available throughout the day from various vendors. All are encouraged to come for all or as many of the events as they can.
Sgt. Floyd Tri-State Chapter members include Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota scholars and history enthusiasts who enjoy sharing the Lewis & Clark story. New members are always welcome to attend their first meeting as our guests and encouraged to become Chapter members.
