Again, the score demonstrated a dominating outcome. The visitors couldn't mount much of an offense as Vermillion's Nick Anglin and Brian Hansen shared a four-hit shut out (each gave up two hits).
Anglin registered 7 Ks during his four-inning stint, while Hansen had two Ks in two innings. Alcester used four pitchers in their 17-0 loss.
The opposing coaches had agreed to play one seven-inning game, regardless of the score, so that the players could enjoy more exposure to competition.
Offensive stats for the Vermillion JVs were: Bennett Johnson 3 for 3, 4 runs, 3 RBI; Cody Merrigan 1 for 2, 2 runs; Ryan Fischbach 4 for 5, 2 runs, 2 RBI; Chase Allen 1 for 1, 2 runs, 1 rbi; Evan Hanson 3 walks, 1 for 3, 1 run, 2 RBI; Denny Kainrath 3 for 4, 2 runs, 1 rbi.
