Families enjoyed the afternoon with activities such as bounce house, obstacle course, "book walk," tattoos, beading, plinko, and numerous other activities.
Tricia Johnson, the Current Mrs. South Dakota International from Gayville, helped children plant flowers at one of the activity booths. She will go to Chicago in July to the Mrs. International Pageant which promotes today's married women, their accomplishments, and commitment to family and marriage.

The families that attended left with frozen fruit pops and some lucky children received bikes. A staff member with Head Start coordinated with the Mike Durfee State Prison in Springfield for the bikes.
Head Start Pre-Birth through Five operates in Clay, Lincoln, Turner and Union counties. They have center sites in Beresford, Canton, Lennox, Worthing, Elk Point, Dakota Valley, Vermillion and a full day/full year site in Vermillion.
