The DearReader.com Book Club offers many selections to Internet patrons. Each book runs for five days, Monday through Friday. Some genres only offer selections every other week. VPL News

Wireless Internet has been newly installed for our patron's use. "WiFi" is located by the reading tables in the adult section of the library and electrical plug-ins are available.

The Used Book Sale, sponsored by the Friends of the Vermillion Public Library, has been postponed until this coming fall. The Friends will reschedule this sale for sometime after the beginning of the school year.

Upcoming Activities

On Monday, July 17, the Summer Reading Program sponsored a juried pet show. There was a fantastic showing of spectators, pet owners, and of course, pets! The participants and results are as follows:

Eric Droegemeier and Freddy the Catfish – Best swimmer.

Sarah Droegemeier and Rhapsody the Cat – Longest fur in show.

Joel, Abby, and Luke Van Peursem and Oreo the Rabbit – Best name for fur coloring.

Eva Farley and Flame the Ball Python – Most colorful reptile.

Kaci Day and Ninja the Rabbit – Best mannered rabbit.

Connor Day and Summer the Cat – Best ball-playing cat.

Kabryni Kezar and Fonzie the Beta Fish – Most beautiful fish.

Anjie Ge and Shrimpie the Shrimp – Most unusual pet.

Paige Brayer and Chien the Cat – Most unusual name for a cat (French for dog).

Carrie Kickland and a stuffed cat – Best house trained cat.

Madeline Brayer and Bear the Dog – Largest dog in show.

Anna Van Holland and Princess the Chicken – Most feathered pet in show.

Chris Lubbers and Bailey the Dog – Most beautiful eyes.

Nicholas Lubbers and Dirtball the Hamster – Smallest furry pet.
