Post # 1 was assigned the home team role in the second game against Alcester Post #86. Vermillion's Scott Morrison had the starting pitcher assignment and went four innings, giving up three hits while registering five Ks. He left the mound enjoying a 13-run advantage.

Ryan Gilbertson relieved and gave up an unearned run in the final inning.

The fourth game of Region 3B paired Harrisburg (as home team), vs. Post #1. In what became a real heart stopper, Vermillion survived a late inning rally by Harrisburg to capture a 10-9 victory.

Zach Weiss started and went seven innings, giving up eight runs on five hits, recording two Ks. During his stint, the team committed four errors (two figured in the scoring). Enjoying an 8-3 lead at the mid eighth inning, a hit batter and three straight hits chased Weiss from the mound. Kyle Mollet relieved and gave up a hit, then struck out the side, making the score 8-6 after eight innings.

Post #1 scored two runs, courtesy of a hit batter, base on balls, sacrifice, and fielders choice (no hits!), taking a 10-6 lead into the home half of the ninth inning. The top of their batting order made things "testy" as they made two hits, a walk, and an error produce three runs. Mollet put out the fire by recording two Ks to cinch the win with a hard earned save.
