The team fell on hard times early as they suffered three straight shutout losses against some powerful out-of-state teams. They made a great comeback by winning the next three games, then losing an extra inning game to end up with a second place in the B division.
The results of game one in the consolation round was a Stinger victory 5-2 in five innings, over a Cottage Grove, MN team. Brianna Brinkman pitched a seven hitter, registering seven Ks. Significant offensive stats were: Brinkmaan � 1 for 1, one run; Chelsea Houska � 1 for 2, two runs; Jenny Bye � 1 for 2, one run; and Jana Bye � 1 for 2, one run.

Game two on Sunday matched the Stingers with the Belleview Shockers. The Stingers won 10-2.
Jenny Bye pitched a no-hit, six-inning game, recording 13 Ks. The team scoring was scattered among: Ashley Ouelette � 2 for 4, two runs; Jenny Bye � 2 for 3, three runs; Ali True � 2 for 4, one run; Molly Lecates � 2 for 4, one run; Donica Crichton � 1 for 4, one run. Kayla Munger and Jana Bye each scored a run. Jana had two hits.
Not to be undone, Brinkman pitched a six-inning shutout, giving up five hits, registering two Ks, and depending on a super team defense for a 7-0 victory.
Brianna contributed to her cause by scoring three runs on 3 for 4 batting. Ashley Ouelette � 2 for 3, two runs; Chelsea Houska and Jenny Bye each were 2 for 3, scoring one run.
The fourth game was a six-inning loss to Brandon Speed 12-7. Jenny Bye pitched six innings, to a 7-7 draw, but gave up five runs in the extra inning and the team was shutout to end the game.

The Stingers will now enter the league tournament, followed by the state tournament, then they will travel to the national tournament.
