Vermillion Teeners win one, lose one
The Teener baseball team played against Lennox on Monday, July 10, at the Lennox sports complex.

Game one was a close competition as Vermillion took a 6-0 lead after three innings, then scrambled to salvage a 9-6 win in the final two innings.

Brian Hansen went the full five innings for the win.


Line scores: Lennox � 6 runs, 4 hits, 0 errors, 3 lob. Vermillion � 9 runs, 4 hits, 2 errors, 3 lob.

Vermillion offensive stats: Nick Anglin � 1 for 2; 1 rbi; Ryan Kost � 1 for 2, 2 runs, 1 rbi; Aaron Steele � 2 walks, 1 run; Cole Andre � 1 rbi; Chase Allen � 1 for 1, 2 runs; Evan Hanson � 1 for 2, 2 runs, 2 rbi; and Robert Osterberg � 1 for 2,1 run, 2 rbi.

Game two was a called after an inning.

On Friday, July 14, the Teeners traveled to Yankton, where they lost a 14-3, seven-inning contest. Nick Anglin was the losing pitcher.

Line sores: Vermillion � 3 runs, 7 hits, 5 errors, 6 lob.

Yankton � 14 runs, 10 hits, 0 errors, 9 lob.

Offensively: Jordan Robinson � 2 for 3, 1 rbi; Evan Hanson � 3 for 3, 1 rbi; Cody Merrigan � 1 for 2, 1 run; Bennett Johnson � 1 for 3, 1 run. Denny Kainrath scored the other run.

The Vermillion JV teeners have a 15-12 record.
