Over $2,000 was raised for the Friends of the W. H. Over Museum by the Bikers and Traveler's Pancake Fund Raiser, sponsored and conducted by the Vermillion Lions Club for the Friends of the Museum. The Vermillion Lions Club has been an active supporter of the museum for over 51 years.
The support and efforts of both groups is greatly appreciated. Community members and organizations interested in supporting the efforts and projects of the Friends of the Museum should contact Maxine Johnson, the FOM fund raiser.
The FOM Board of Directors is in the process of revitalizing the museum's working committees. The committees provide the primary vehicle through which members and/or volunteers can take an active part in the operations, programs, projects, and activities of the W.H.Over Museum.
The working committees are: finance, collections, exhibits, facilities and grounds, research and publications, fund raising, gift shop, newsletter, membership, programs, education, and public relations. Individuals interested in participating in any of the above committees and/or in volunteering at the W.H. Over Museum should call the museum office at 605-677-5228 or drop by the museum and leave your name with the secretary or receptionist.
The September board meeting will be completely devoted to the reorganization of the museum's committees and work on establishing committee direction, projects, and priorities. Members and volunteers who wish to participate in the efforts and projects of the various committees are invited to join the FOM Board in Sletwold Hall at the W.H. Over Museum from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday evening, Sept. 26.
