Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS) of Lutheran Social Services will sponsor a free financial management seminar on Saturday, Aug. 12, from 9 a.m. to noon at the CCCS office located at Trinity Lutheran Church, 816 E. Clark in Vermillion.
The Financial Check-Up seminar provides comprehensive information on responsible money manage-ment and serves as the financial readiness (part one) of the two part CCCS home buyer education seminar, Home Buyer Express.

Participants will be given the tools and knowledge to set financial goals and priorities, develop a personal spending plan, identify affordable levels of debt, save to help avoid financial crisis, minimize the cost of credit, manage their credit and maintain credit reports and scores and prevent or handle a credit crisis.
The class, facilitated by Tami Albrecht, CCCS Certified Credit Counselor is free and open to the public. Anyone in the Vermillion area is likely to benefit from the class.
