The Vermillion Farmer's Market and the Vermillion Area Arts Council continue the Midweek Food & Arts Festival every Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Washington Street Arts Center.

The Main Gallery at the USD Fine Arts School is exhibiting the South Dakota Governor's Biennial Art Competition. Called "Endless Possibilities," the exhibit features 43 works by artists across the state including Vermillion. The show will be on display through the end of the month with a reception on Wednesday, Aug. 30 from 7 to 9 p.m.
The Vermillion Literary Project will be holding a poetry reading and poetry slam with featured writer Brian Bedard on Thursday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. at the Coffee Shop Gallery. Bedard will kick off the evening, with the slam immediately to follow. Slam poets should bring at least three poems; prizes will be awarded to the winning slam poets. Everyone is welcome.
The Vermillion Area Arts Calendar will be holding its annual meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 13 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Washington Street Arts Center. The VAAC is embarking on a new era of service to Vermillion and we need your help – this is your community arts council and arts center. Please come to the meeting to find out more and begin or renew your membership!
The USD Women & Literature Reading Group will be discussing the book Memory Board by Jane Rule on Sept. 20 at 7:15 p.m. in the back-righthand corner, first floor, of the I.D. Weeks Library. All readers welcome!
