Reetz received her Ed.D. in teacher education in 1984 from The University of North Dakota after 11 years of experience in special education in North Dakota K-12 schools.�Before joining USD, Reetz worked as an assistant professor of special education at the State University of New York from 1984-1986.
For the past 20 years, Reetz has worked as a professor of special education, served as chair of the Division of Curriculum and Instruction and was associate dean for student services in the School of Education at USD.

She was awarded the Belbas-Larson Excellence in teaching award in 1991 as a faculty member at USD.�
"I am honored to serve as the interim dean because I have a strong passion for The U's School of Education," said Reetz. "I have witnessed the quality of our students and the ability of our faculty to awaken these students to become great thinkers, educators, and other service professionals."
