The South Dakota Office of Homeland Security is advising air travelers to be patient.

The terrorist plot uncovered in United Kingdom last week has the Transportation Security Administration beefing up security at airports.��

There is no need for anyone in South Dakota to change travel plans, but airline passengers should be prepared to comply with security procedures implemented by the Transportation Security Administration.

�These security measures are in place to keep our country and our people safe,� said John Berheim, South Dakota Officer of Homeland Security Director. �I ask that you work with the TSA screeners and be respectful of the work they are doing.�

South Dakota�s terrorist threat level remains at yellow (elevated.)�There is no known direct threat to South Dakota.
