Bob Tosterud, endowed chair and professor of economics at The University of South Dakota, announces the publication of his new book Almost 500! Million-Dollar Ideas for $9.95: Vol. IV.
"To test my hypothesis that ideas are latent but inherent in humans, I had the idea to require my entrepreneurship students to begin each class period with 'idea sharing.' That is, their homework was to come up with an idea and present it in class ? I thought another good idea would be to publish the 'best' of these ideas," Tosterud said. "My original intent on 'writing' the book was to have my students be recognized as co-authors."
Tosterud is the holder of the Freeman Chair of Entrepreneurial Studies at USD. Prior to coming to South Dakota in the summer of 1991, Tosterud was the economics program officer for the Ford Foundation in New York City. Most of his time on the East Coast, however, was spent in Washington, D.C., where Tosterud served for seven years as senior economist and staff director of the Joint Economic Committee of the U.S. Congress. Tosterud has also started four businesses, including his latest venture, His Essence, LLC.
All proceeds from the sale of these books go toward entrepreneurship scholarships at USD.
