It was the second straight double-overtime contest to open the season for USD, which moves to 1-0-1 with the victory while the Golden Bears fall to 1-1-0.
Ervin, who moved into a tie with Teri Atkinson for second place on the South Dakota all-time career goals scored list with 23 thanks to game-winner, ended the game after connecting for USD's first goal of the year with 9:03 left in the contest. Junior midfielder Katie Cerling got her third career assist on Ervin's goal.

Senior goalkeeper Candice Martinez pitched her second shutout in as many games by collecting three saves on the afternoon. Martinez has not allowed a goal in 200:57 this season.
The Coyotes out-shot Concordia-St. Paul 29-6 over the course of the match, including 19-5 in the second half alone and 5-0 in the two overtime sessions combined. USD did a better job attacking the net as well as it owned an 11-3 advantage in shots on net, and had 11 corner kick opportunities compared to just three for the Golden Bears.
South Dakota will return to the pitch this weekend with a pair of games in the CMSU/Holiday Inn Express Classic. The Coyotes will take on Washburn at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1, before squaring off against host Central Missouri State at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 3.
