Funds for the computer equipment were donated by a Vermillion-area family who are members of the FOM.
Community members and organizations interested in helping the Friends of the Museum in their efforts to raise funds for the museum's new environmental system should contact Maxine Johnson, the FOM fund raiser.
Two additional grants will provide funds to purchase a computer for the museum's office secretary/manager and a computer for the museum's gift shop office. The computers will be used for inventory, records, purchasing, graphic production, accounting, and reporting.
These grants, from another Vermillion area family, represent major contributions to the FOM's efforts to improve equipment and management capabilities in the museum.
Recent contributions to the FOM include a $500 donation and membership from the USD Federal Credit Union and a donation from the recent Bikers and Travelers Pancake Event, sponsored and conducted by the Vermillion Area Lions Club.
The following individuals have donated their time and efforts for specific projects at the W.H. Over Museum: Sam BeGay repaired and restored the foot bridge that leads to the W.H. Over Museum's Heritage Garden; Ken Wurtz reconstructed and attached the wooden bench to the sun dial pedestal which commemorates the museum's Heritage Garden; and Alan Johnson, Dennis Johnson, and Sam BeGay are presently conducting a project to trim the trees on the museum's grounds and replace the mulch around the trunks of the trees that provide shade for the museum's east and south lawns.
