Participants will learn to cook with honey by making a salad, chicken stir-fry, dessert and a smoothie which will be enjoyed by all registered at the end of the class. Judy Gulleson, a National Beekeepers Board member and Britton beekeeper will be teaching the class.
If you like moist, golden-hued breads, rolls, cakes, cookies and muffins, then you should use honey when baking. Honey absorbs and retains moisture, so your homemade baked goods stay fresher longer.

Honey also reduces crumbliness in cookies and scones. Class is limited to 15 participants with a cost of $7 to cover the food supplies. Call the Clay County Extension at 605-677-7111 to reserve your space. Reservations need to be made by Sept. 21, 2006.
Sponsored by the Clay County Extension Office, Honey World and Judy Gulleson, beekeeper.
