The regular meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary to Clay Post #306 was held Sept. 19 with President Delores Gregg presiding. Roll call of officers was taken and recorded. Chaplain Opal Smith offered the prayer.
Barbara Kronaizl presented Delores Gregg with her past president's pin. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Treasurer's report for June, July and August were accepted as read. General orders #1, 2 and 3 were read from our state president. Thank-you letters were read from Elizabeth Fiedler's, La Vonne Weiland's and Delilah Williams' families.
Committee reports were given on membership, buddy poppy, funeral, cards mailed, bingo at Vermillion Care Center, Civic Council, pillow cleaning, hospital equipment on loan, Road to Recovery, Hospice, Meals on Wheels, and raffle tickets for ways and means.
The charter was draped for Delilah Williams, who passed away on July 19.
We will pay for lunch to be served at the Hunters' Safety Program for Youth. Our auxiliary is having a Patriot's Pen and Get Out the Vote Essay contest. For "Make a Difference Day," our auxiliary is purchasing $50 worth of peanut butter for the Food Pantry. We sent donations to the State Fair, Special Olympics and Patriotic Art Escrow. Donna Schafer will go to the fifth-grade classes and explain the buddy poppy.
