Coyotes fall to 25 Wayne State

The South Dakota volleyball team squared off against #25 Wayne State (NE) in non-conference action, and fell to the Wildcats 3-0 (30-18, 30-20, 30-18).

The loss was the fourth in a row for the Coyotes, who fell to 4-10 overall. WSC meanwhile picked up its sixth-consecutive victory to improve to 14-2.

Senior setter Casey Beardsley led USD with 15 assists on the match. Freshmen outside hitter Jamie Vander Kooi and middle blocker Heather Fluit tied for the team lead with seven kills apiece.�Sophomore libero Amber Kobus had a South Dakota-high 12 digs on the evening.

The Coyotes will next be in action on Friday, Sept. 22, when they travel to Duluth, MN, to take on their second consecutive nationally ranked team in the form of #6 Minnesota Duluth, starting at 7 p.m.
