The South Dakota football team (4-0, 2-0 NCC) remained eighth in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II coaches poll, released earlier today. The Coyotes are sixth in the D2football.com media poll. USD is also ranked fifth in the Don Hansen National Football Gazette and fourth in the College Sports Report Division II rankings.
Grand Valley State (4-0) remained the top team in the country with 26 first-place ballots in the AFCA poll. The AFCA Coaches poll, which is released every Tuesday during the regular season, consists of a board of 28 AFCA member head coaches from Division II schools around the country. Grand Valley State also remained No. 1 in the D2football.com and the Don Hansen Football Gazette polls while Northwest Missouri State was ranked first by the College Sports Report.
The Coyotes will face DIAA Central Arkansas (3-1) in a nonconference game on Saturday (Sept. 30) at 2 p.m. at Estes Stadium in Conway, AR.
