Girls' tennis team loses both matches at Madison
On Tuesday, Sept. 12 the Vermillion tennis team faced St. Thomas Moore and Madison in a triangular at Madison.

Madison 7, Vermillion 2

Varsity singles: Emily Johnson (M) def. Liz Day 8-0; Molly Johnson (M) def. Dru Daniels 8-1; Shanon Skillman (V) def. Laura Niedent 8-3; Carolyn Hunter (M) def. Lyndsay Morecraft 8-0; Katie Beck (M) def. Steph Cowman 8-1; and Alicia Hesla (V) def. Caitlin Sullivan 8-1.


Doubles: M. Johnson/E. Johnson (M) def. Daniels/Skillman 8-2; Sullivan/Niedent (M) def. Day/Hesla 8-0; and Hunter/Beck (M) def. Cowman/Morecraft 8-5.

St. T.M. – 8, Vermillion – 1

Singles: Gail McIntyre (St) def. Day 10-1; Arslin Gould (St) def. Daniels 10-8; Cheyenne Raforth (St) def. Skillman (V) 10-6; Marin Plumb (St) def. Morecraft 10-2; Jordan McDonald (St) def. Cowman 10-4; and Hesla (V) def. Maddy Kovaric 10-5.

Doubles: McIntyre/Gould def. Daniels/Skillman 10-7; Raforth/Plumb def. Day/Hesla 10-4; and McDonald/Kovaric def. Cowman/ Morecraft 10-7.

"We have improved our varsity doubles with the rearranged flight assignments, which is giving our team more confidence," said coach Dan Hanson.
