Straub was elected to the board of governors position by current NCUR members and will serve a three-year term. As a member of NCUR, Straub must attend bi-annual board meetings and the national conference on April 12-14, 2007 at Dominican University of California.
In addition to teaching at USD, Straub has served as chairperson of the USD Undergraduate Research Council, associate dean of the USD College of Arts and Sciences, and as a member of NCUR's Psychology DivisionCouncil, and Executive Council.
"I am honored and excited to have the opportunity to serve on the NCUR Board of Governors, particularly with our history of participation in NCUR," said Straub. "It is great that someone from USD can contribute to the NCUR leadership and have an opportunity at a national level to effect undergraduate research."
Established in 1987, NCUR is an association supportive of college and university faculty, students, administrators, and others interested in promoting undergraduate research scholarship and creative activity done in partnership with faculty or other mentors as a vital component of higher education.
