Nelson receives SDSU scholarship

Hannah Nelson of Vermillion was awarded the Phi Upsilon Omicron Scholarship for the 2006-2007 school year at South Dakota State University.

Nelson is a junior nutrition major at SDSU. She is the daughter of Craig and Leslie Nelson of Vermillion and a 2004 graduate of Beresford High School.

At SDSU she is active in the Pride of the Dakotas marching band, Food Science, Dietetics, and Hospitality Club, Phi Epsilon Omicron, and is an admissions ambassador for SDSU.

This scholarship program is financed by contributions of SDSU alumni who are members of the Phi Upsilon Omicron home economics honorary organization. The scholarship campaign was started in 1990.

Recipients of the Phi Upsilon Omicron Scholarship are Phi Upsilon Omicron members majoring in family and consumer sciences.
