Tanager cross country teams at A/H invitational
Thirteen schools were represented at the Alcester/Hudson Cross Country Invitational meet in Alcester, Monday, Sept.18 with competition in both boys' and girls' varsity and JV divisions.

The top team in the boys' varsity division was Canton (21). Vermillion (39) placed fourth. Eric TenNapel of West Sioux placed first.

The best Tanager place was seventh for Andrew Manning. Broc Gauer (11th), Casey Carlson (21st), Ryan Powell (23rd), JR Moore (25th) and CJ Donahoe (52nd), also completed the team among the nearly 70 runners in the race.


For the girls, Beresford and Canton tied for first with 27 points. Vermillion came in seventh (61), paced by Katarina Gombocz's fourth-place finish.

Jana Bye was the Tanager's second runner (28th); and coming in at 29th and 30th, were the twosome of Sarah Day and Brandi BlueArm among the 54 participants in the run.

The JV divisions did not have team scores computed, but from the VHS girls – Shelby Gregoire (third); Lexie Regnerus (seventh); Beth Szymonski (11th); Cassie Donahoe (14th); Bailey Carlson (18th).

Also competing were: Sarah Szymonski, Steffani Donahoe, Shannon Jepsen, and Julie Renner.

For the JV boys, Tanager placers were: David Orr (ninth); Jeff Donnelly (18th); Brody Stone (21st); Isaac Druin (34th); and Nick Britten (37th). Other participants were: Alex Card, Tony Hubert, and Skyler Tiahrt.
