Scoring procedures are: Matches are three best of five games with rally scoring (every point counts, no matter the server) and the play ends when the leading team scores 25 or leads by 2 points after that.

Match #1 pitted the Tanagers against the Falcons with a 22-25, 15-25, 25-20, 25-18; 15-14, 3-2 victory for the Redbirds.

In the match against the Orioles, the Tanagers accomplished their first seasonal triangular win 3-1 (25-11, 16-25, 25-15, 25-10). They were led by Krista Froke with 13 service points, 7 aces, and 11 kills. She was aided by Kinsey Weydert with 16 assists, 13 SP, and 3 aces. Also making major contributions were: Brittni Stewart – 7 Ks, 10 SP, 2 aces; Alicia Brown – 7 blocks, 18 digs; Ariel Hofman – 15 digs.
"This was another great win," Billberg said. "We played as a team and 'dug the stuffing out of the ball.' "
