Wakonda makes plans for its last homecoming

Wakonda Public School extends an invitation to its community as well as the surrounding towns for its annual homecoming parade.

The parade will be taking place on Friday, Sept. 29, starting at 1:30 p.m. This year's homecoming theme is

DECADES.

It is hoped that there will be a great turnout this year as this will be the homecoming of the Wakonda School District.

Next year, Wakonda students will be part of the new Irene-Wakonda School District.

Wakonda alumni, past homecoming royalty, and anyone with an historical connection to Wakonda is encouraged to enter a float or vehicle in the parade and help make the last homecoming a great day for the community.
