Scrabble Scrimmage is again scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 21 from 1 to 4 in the VPL Community Room. This activity is planned for adults and young adults from ages 12 to 18. Extra Scrabble boards and Scrabble dictionaries welcome.
The October Book Club's selection is Giants in the Earth, by O.E. Rolvaag. This great South Dakota classic portrays a Norwegian immigrant family's trials, hardships, and life on the often-hostile land of the South Dakota prairie. Copies of this book are available at the circulation desk. The discussion will be held on Thursday, Oct. 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the South Dakota Room of the library.
Learn skills for keeping chronological charts, lists, and time lines for births, deaths, marriages, and other family history. The Sioux Valley Genealogical Society will return on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Call 677-7060 for registration, as seating is limited.
