The Meckling Livestock 4-H club met Aug. 23 at the 4-H building. Roll call topic was your "Favorite Subject in School." Eighteen members were present. Old business included a discussion on the county and State Fair. Congratulations to all 4-H members on their fair achievements this year, our club members had a lot of great success. Parents and members put in a lot of time helping out at the fair.
Our Beanies for Baghdad collection has come to an end and next meeting we will box up and mail what we have collected. A donation was made to the SD 4-H Foundation on behalf of our club.
In new business, we discussed the deadlines for State Fair exhibits in Foods and Horticulture and the deadline to pick up exhibits after State Fair. We discussed what our club projects will be for National 4-H Week and deadlines for turning in journals and award applications.

National 4-H Week activities were reviewed. In new business we discussed our Dakota Days float project, and our chosen community service projects were discussed.
