Dr. Tim Ridgway named dean of clinical faculty

The Sanford School of Medicine of The University of South Dakota is pleased to announce that Dr. Tim M. Ridgway has been appointed to the position of dean of clinical faculty.

The responsibilities of the position include promoting medical education; recruiting and supporting community physicians who teach medical students; advocating for medical education; overseeing the Sioux Falls campus operations in support of the School of Medicine's goals and mission; and assisting in the administration of the School of Medicine.

Dr. Ridgway has received numerous honors including outstanding presentation of a clinical vignette by American College of Physicians, outstanding achievement award in internal medicine, doctor of the month at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, membership in Alpha Omega Alpha, a national medical honor society, and a nomination for the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine award from the School of Medicine. Dr. Ridgway has also been active as a member on the board of governors for the Sioux Valley Physicians Group, as a board member of the Sioux Valley Physicians Alliance and as a board member for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of South Dakota.
